Администрация Байдена получила от своих предшественников непростое наследие на Ближнем Востоке. Что-то она намерена изменить, а что-то оставить как константу. Главная её проблема – сохраняющееся военное присутствие в странах региона: Сирии, Ираке и Афганистане; возникшая неопределённость в связи с ядерной программой Ирана и подмоченные отношения с крупнейшими региональными государствами: Турцией, Саудовской Аравией, Египтом. Ей также предстоит определиться в вопросах поддержания безопасности и противодействия терроризму.

Joe Biden administration has inherited a complicated legacy from its predecessors in the Middle East. Some things the administration intends to change, but some things will be left as a constant. Its main problems is the continued military presence in the countries of the region – Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, the arising uncertainty in connection with Iran’s nuclear program, and tarnished relations with the largest regional states – Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. The issues of maintaining security and countering terrorism are also on its agenda.
