В контексте перехода международных отношений от однополярного к полицентричному миру наступает новый период, характеризующийся американским руководством как стратегическое соперничество США с ведущими державами – Россией и Китаем, где особую роль играет американская военная сила. В статье раскрываются суть и особенности американского концептуального видения соперничества и роли вооружённых сил США. Наряду с этим рассматривается диапазон применения американской военной силы в реализации глобальных целей США.

In the context of international relations transition from the unipolar to multipolar world a new period is coming that is described from the U.S. leadership’s standpoint as the strategic competition with such major powers as Russia and China. The American military power plays a special role here. The article focuses on the essence and peculiarities of the U.S. conceptual vision of the competition and the role of the U.S. armed forces. Along with that the article describes the spectrum of the American military power application to reach global goals.
