Abstract
The author examines the transformation of Soviet/Russian foreign policy in the Horn of Africa since the 1960s. The reasons for the change in the foreign policy approaches of the USSR/Russia were not only the development of the political situation in the region, but also the change of the political vector in the USSR/Russia
