Abstract
The review of Professor Ya.A. Plyais›s monograph «Foreign policy of postSoviet Russia: in search of rational meaning» notes that this is a wellreasoned study of the foreign policy of post-Soviet Russia in the context of a radical transformation of the international relations system. Having dispelled illusions about establishing equitable interaction with the United States and Europe, Russia was forced to pursue a more assertive foreign policy to ensure its national interests. The monograph’s author believes that in the foreseeable future, a bipolar world order will reemerge.
