The educational and scientific vectors in the strategies of socioeconomic development of the GCC countries

Abstract
The article discusses the implementation of socio-economic development strategies by the GCC countries, the prerequisites, timeliness and necessity of their implementation. Special attention is paid to the reform of higher education and science, which are necessary for the successful diversification of economies. The dynamics of the GCC universities’ rating in the world academic ranking of universities was analyzed.
