The fragmentation of media space makes it increasingly difficult for the state to pursue an effective information policy. Despite the objective factors limiting the influence of state television, it continues to be an important communication resource. The historical, cultural, ideological and political commonality of the peoples of Russia and Belarus, as well as common challenges determine the similarity of the vectors of development of the countries’ information policy and the importance of state television
The article deals with the Taiwan issue, which has existed for almost 70 years and boils down to the statement «Taiwan is an integral part of the PRC». But in today’s geopolitical environment, given PRC’s economic, political and military growth, the Taiwan issue, which is one of the most important aspects of national security for China, is complemented by the escalating confrontation between the PRC and the US.
The author has analysed some aspects of the foreign policy activities of the US Congress in the military-political and economic spheres aimed at ensuring Washington’s national interests. The article shows the systemic formation of a belt of “controlled instability” around Russia and China.

The article analyzes the role of the policy of «self-governing socialism» in the national construction of socialist Yugoslavia. E. Kardel’s version of the permanent increase of powers of the regions is considered as one of the main reasons for the collapse of the state. It is how the implementation of the ideas of «self-governing socialism» influenced the separatist movement of the Albanians of Kosovo.
The authors investigate the problem of creating a Community of Serbian Municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija. They consider the main threats of social, regional and geopolitical nature, as well as the prospects of forming this territorial association in the context of the Kosovo settlement. It is pointed out that there is no visible possibility of forming such an entity at the present stage due to the opposition of Pristina and the West.
The article examines the problems of division of the Ossetian ethnos, which has developed over a long period of time, starting in the early Middle Ages, and analyses the impact of division on the key spheres of life of the ethnos.
International legal sciences
The article contains a scholarly critique of the concept of a rules-based international order. It shows the systemic role of the United Nations in the YaltaPotsdam world order. The author substantiates the conclusion that Russia has fruitful ideas for developing the concept of a new world order, designed to restore a clear boundary between good and evil, to put up barriers against disorder and chaos, and to stop the restoration of fascism.
History of international relations and foreign policy
The author examines how the US and Spain sought to establish military and political contacts after World War II, when Madrid was denied admission to the UN because of its close cooperation with the “Axis” countries. The aim of the US was to use Spanish territory for military bases and later to admit Spain to NATO.
The article analyses the political processes of the “perestroika” period in Moldova, which led to a sharp rise in ethno-political tensions between the official Chisinau and a number of regions of the country (Transnistria, Gagauzia, etc.). The nationalist forces that came to power in 1990, instead of political and legal settlement of the growing contradictions, resorted to an attempt to resolve them by force, which led to an armed conflict in Transnistria. Russia played a decisive role in de-escalating the conflict by initiating a peacekeeping mission and establishing a security zone. These measures have been proving to be effective in maintaining peace in the region for 30 years.

Relatively low rankings of Russia in international indexing systems are explained by the rules of the game that have developed under the influence of the West and not at all by the Russian scientists falling far behind the Western scientists in terms of their proficiency.
