Abstract

The inability to fit the current conflict in Ukraine into the paradigm of war and peace familiar to European and Russian history is explained not only by the erosion of semantic boundaries between these two states, but also by the increasing blurriness of the familiar contours of the war itself. All aspects of military planning and the fighting itself were subordinated to the goal of defeating the enemy’s army in such a battle. Today everything goes in a different way.

The article shows the evolution of approaches to expanding the zones of American influence and the practice of applying models to create regimes loyal to Washington. The doctrine of “State Building 1.0” was focused on the strict subordination of Caribbean polities, “State Building 2.0” camouflages the previous goals of domination by the concepts of liberalism and democracy. Building a vassal state in Ukraine is a special operation that the US is unlikely to abandon.

Abstract

The United States is to some extent restructuring its Middle East policy, in which the hydrocarbon component is becoming a shadow of the military political one. Recognizing the importance of the region, Washington sees the main task in preventing the predominant influence of China there, while countering Russia and Iran also remain on the agenda, but the attitude towards the problem of the Arab-Israeli settlement and the fight against extremists is becoming reflexive.

The revolution in Portugal (1974) became a bright event in the European history of the second half of the twentieth century. The profascist regime on the continent, which had existed for almost half a century, was overthrown. The article analyzes the causes and consequences of the revolution, examines the factors that caused the collapse of the Armed forces Movement, which became the driving force of the uprising.
