The article reveals the essential characteristics of modern world politics, changes in Russia’s geopolitical identity and the actualizing features of the multipolar world, their institutionalization in the foreign policy of the Russian Federation in the context of its national interests.

History of international relations and foreign policy
The article is a continuation of the analysis of the strategy and practice of the «political war» waged by the United States and its allies against Russia. One of the areas of this confrontation has been and remains the Balkans. Based on official sources and little-known analytical materials, the article shows how the US – British bloc tried to destabilize the situation in Albania and overthrow the regime of Enver Hoxha. Later, the Albanian factor became one of the key factors in the destruction of Yugoslavia and Serbia.

The article addresses the problem of cyber extremism as a key threat to Russia’s national security. Based on statistical data and law enforcement materials, the trends and specific features of this type of crime are examined. The author proposes ways to improve countermeasures, including preventive work and the implementation of modern technologies.
