Abstract

The article examines the views of the People’s Republic of China on the formation of a new world order amid the crisis of the international relations system and the transition to a polycentric configuration of world politics. The PRC’s approach combines anti-hegemonic rhetoric, an appeal to the central role of the UN, an emphasis on the sovereign equality of states, the promotion of a development model for Global South countries, and the gradual expansion of its own security beyond national borders. Beijing does not yet offer a complete model of world order, but rather formulates a set of interrelated initiatives capable of transforming the People’s Republic of China into one of the centers of attraction in a polycentric world.

Abstract

The most striking event of the NATO summit in Ankara (July 7–8 of this year) was the speech by U.S. President D. Trump, who called NATO the worst deal in history. Against the backdrop of the conflict with Iran, the question of burden-sharing was compounded by criticism of several countries’ refusal to assist the U.S.-Israeli coalition. At a time when the inviolability of the alliance has been called into question, 2026 could prove to be a turning point for Europe’s collective security. Forecasting the path that Europe will take requires taking into account the threats to the Union State of Belarus and Russia, which operate with continental European interests in mind, as well as integration within the postSoviet space.
