Abstract

The US messianism is being modernized, more and more openly politicized, adapting to the profound transformational processes in the global world. The ideas of messianism conceptualize the basic blocks of the geopolitical model of the world order, built strictly according to American patterns. It is not only presented and promoted in every possible way as the only universal one, but is also promisingly advertised as a kind of «pass» to the future world order.

The strategic importance of the territory of Spain increased dramatically with the beginning of the Cold War. American bases in Spain have become an integral part of the system of USA/NATO military facilities created in Europe in order to fight the USSR. After the reduction of the US military presence at the end of the twentieth century, currently there is a tendency for its growth, taking into account the new military and political realities. The Naval base in Rota (Cadiz) and the Air Force base in Moron (Seville) today play a key role in controlling the Western Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar.

Abstract

The author notes the natural-historical nature of globalization, linking the internationalization of production, exchange and distribution with the development of the European economy and the Great Geographical Discoveries. The unfair nature of globalization was fueled by the existence of «traditional» colonial empires (British, French, Dutch, etc.). The collapse of the «liberal world order» at the beginning of the 21st century raised the question of some substitute for globalization in the form of regionalization of world space.

Abstract

Based on his personal experience as a UN expert, the author analyzes the emerging trends in the activities of universal human rights structures: the UN, the human rights treaty bodies of the UN system and at UNESCO. These trends are a real threat to the established international universal human rights system based on the provisions of the UN Charter. It is shown with specific examples how Western liberal ideas erode the conceptual foundations laid down in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and begin to prevail in the activities of international human rights mechanisms and thus the latter are gradually transformed into an obedient instrument of substitution of provisions of key international human rights treaties by Western liberal ideas in the guise of «universal human values» in opposition to the traditional spiritual and moral values.
